Cleaning Mode blacks out your screen and locks the keyboard and trackpad, so you can wipe everything down without opening apps, deleting text or changing the volume. Type open when you're done.
Download for MacHow it works
Click the keyboard icon at the top of your screen and choose Start Cleaning Mode.
The screen goes black so every smudge shows, and nothing you press or touch does anything.
Type the word open on the keyboard and your Mac is back exactly as you left it.
What it locks
Covers every display, menu bar and Dock included, so dust and fingerprints are easy to spot.
Every key is ignored, including shortcuts, volume, brightness and media keys.
Clicks, scrolling, swipes and gestures do nothing, and the pointer stays put.
Caps Lock is put back the way it was, so you don't come back to SHOUTING.
If your Mac sleeps, locks or you close the lid, Cleaning Mode turns itself off.
